Jazzercise with Jan got me started on the right track for my pregnancy. It laid the foundation for exercise throughout the nine months. I had been doing Jazzercise regularly (3 times a week) for four years prior to my pregnancy. I feel that without the healthy start Jazzercise provided it would have been very difficult to maintain an exercise program, let alone begin one. And in all of the early pregnancy classes I took, exercise and healthy eating were the two habits emphasized the most. Many women use their pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever/whenever/ and however much they want as well as cut back on their exercise program. That's fine; that's their prerogative. But I was of the opinion that whatever I gained, I would eventually have to lose. So by the photo can you guess how much I did gain? 30 lbs. Which is right between the recommended 25 to 35 lbs. And I have Jazzercise with Jan to thank for it! Brenda

While my feet get me to Jazzercise, Jan keeps me there by supplying the inspiration and motivation. Going to  Jazzercise class make me feel pretty and powerful. It is my gift to myself, so I can do all I do for my children, my husband and my career.

Just as Jan inspires me, I inspire my family to exercise more and help our community, and what better way than to

After talking with Jan about body sculpting, I’ve been asked to put my thoughts down on paper.  Well, basically I love it!  Body Sculpting has been a wonderful addition to Jazzercise.

I started with Jazzercise about seven years ago, needing to strength my body after injuries from a car accident and wanting to become healthier and more fit.  I did get results and it was fun, too.  I got strong, I lost weight and I was feeling good.  Can it get any better?  Yes!  How?  Body Sculpting!  When it came along, I gave it a try.  Soon, I was noticing that I’ve got muscles and pleased with the changes I was beginning to see.  But what impressed me the most was others saw it, too.  One co-worker commented on the improvement in appearance of my upper body, saying she could see it through the sweater I was wearing! She wanted to know what I was doing.  That’s it – I was sold.

Body Sculpting was re-shaping my body, firming my muscles, and in doing so, effectively trimming me down.  My clothes fit better, my muscles are more toned and my abs are even flatter!  With the addition of body sculpting, I get an even better workout now.

You can experience this for yourself, too.   Give it a try.  Go ahead, sculpt.  I’m still working on my sculpture.  So far I like what I see, but as I continue to sculpt, I think I’ll like it even more.  What beautiful work of art do you want to sculpt?

Question:  Why do I need to listen to my muscles?
Answer:  This must sound so boring.  Listening to our instructors say tighten
those abs, stretch those arms, do you know where your left ham string is?  But, actually all of those reminders are very important.  After having surgery I found out I was using some muscles incorrectly.  I was using my chest muscles to do a lot of my lifting and moving.  Since this was painful I started using my abs and quads to lift myself from a chair, roll over in bed, and bending.  I remembered my "dancer's eye" and the core muscles.  I don't think I would be as aware of my body mechanics if it wasn't for Jazzercise.  You never know when you are going to need those muscles.

So Jazzercise has definitely has added a positive dimension to my life.  Great friends, great times.  Thanks for being there.
  Much love,
